Lord Huron, July 7th, 2016

Had no idea who was opening for Lord Huron until a lovely person on Facebook commented on their event page. Jane’s Party: I had never heard of them prior to this concert but was pleasantly surprised by the songs they shared with us. This Toronto band but on a great show with great enthusiasm. Their catchy indie rock tunes got us tapping our feet. And the drummer? By far my favourite band member.  His open-mouthed excitement, which lasted the entire show, was very infectious. Definitely downloading a few of their songs and checking out their concert next time the play in the city. Check them out!

Lord Huron put on a fantastic show! The audience, myself included, danced and clapped throughout the whole set! The indie folk band had great stage presence. The used a variety of instruments to create the most harmonious sounds. In between songs, they even played some forest sounds to match the theme of their latest album, Strange Trails, which also happens to be the name of their tour. It was a very original and I greatly enjoyed this feature. It definitely added to the unique show they performed. The drummer of this band must have come from the Tarzan soundtrack. He had a huge drum set which included bongos and of course, the maracas. I’m now a firm believer every band should have a pair of maracas, just in case. This band definitely knows how to create some great sounding tunes. I highly suggest going to see them if you ever get the chance!
